Ade Macalinao is a all-genre spanning freelance producer based in Los Angeles, California, who works with award-winning directors & production companies to create emotionally compelling visuals within the narrative film, music video, commercial and direct-to-brand space.
I specialize in supervising and producing both nimble and expansive post & VFX pipelines - from editorial, motion graphics, design, 2D & 3D animation, to interactive tech on commercials, short form, and direct-to-brand content. My commercial work has ushered in awards from Cannes Lions, the CLIO Awards, D&AD, British Arrows, Advertising Creative Circle Awards, AICP Awards, & Eurobest to name a few.
My collaborative live action work in music videos has also been featured in the news outlets worldwide with features in several Vimeo Staff picks, NPR, Interview Mag, New York Times, NME, Pitchfork, Complex, Fader Magazine, & Nowness Asia.
This year, I produced a proof of concept short film that will be premiering at the Thailand Biennale in Phuket for director Andrew Thomas Huang in November 2025. I am currently producing a drama feature film shooting in London in October.
I also produced an action thriller short film, Dark In Berlin, that debuted at Cannes Next during the Marché du Film at the 77th Festival de Cannes.
My virtual production and visual effects producing work for feature film BLKNWS: Terms & Conditions (dir. by Kahlil Joseph) debuted at Sundance Festival 2025 domestically and the 2025 Berlinale internationally with multiple selections at festivals like TIFF, New York Film Festival, Buenos Aires International Festival of Independent Cinema, and Seattle International Film Festival.
On my spare time, I’m either watching movies, riding a bike, being in nature, dancing my ass off, or scoping out stuff to do on the internet while thinking about when to do that in real life.
