Ade Macalinao (she/they) is a all-genre spanning freelance producer based in Los Angeles, California, who works with award-winning directors & production companies to create emotionally compelling visuals within the narrative film, music video, commercial and direct-to-brand space.
I specialize in supervising and producing different post & VFX pipelines - from editorial, motion graphics, design, 2D & 3D animation, to interactive tech on commercials, short form, and direct-to-brand content. My commercial work has ushered awards from Cannes Lions, the CLIO Awards, D&AD, British Arrows, Advertising Creative Circle Awards, AICP Awards, & Eurobest to name a few.
My collaborative live action work has also been featured in the news: Dan Deacon’s “Sat By A Tree” was chosen as a Vimeo Staff Pick and featured on media outlets such as NPR & Interview Mag. Right now I’m looking for funding to finish a nearly completed CG animated short film that merges both traditional 3D software and Quill, an immersive VR illustration and animation tool.
I produced an 18 minute short film that was recently chosen as an ‘Official Selection’ at 2022 Outfest.
I also partnered with Fuse Technical Group, ARRI, Inc., and FotoKem to produce an action thriller short film – exclusively shot on an LED volume stage using virtual production. Dark In Berlin stars Christine Ko (Dave, Handmaid’s Tale) & Miki Ishikawa (The Falcon and the Winter Soldier) in a raw, visceral entry to the female-forward action genre.
On my spare time, I’m either watching movies, riding a bike, being in nature, dancing, doing headstands, or scoping out stuff to do on the internet while thinking about when to do that in real life.
